Coffee spaces

My passion for traveling and exploring creative spaces has grown over time. While doing so, I had the pleasure of discovering the complex flavors of coffee. As someone born and raised in Egypt, I was used to consuming more tea and Turkish coffee. But my move to the US in 1996 introduced me to a new world of coffee with its myriad of flavors. I've learned that Arabica Coffee accounts for 60% of all coffee production, known for its smoother taste with notes of fruit, chocolate, nuts, and caramel. Interestingly enough, Arabica Coffee has its roots in the Arabic world and goes back centuries in countries like Yemen and Egypt.

I was fortunate enough to become acquainted with various coffee beans and their distinct characteristics. I became familiar with a range of roasting techniques, such as French, Italian, Venezuelan, Cuban, Peruvian, and Ethiopian.

The concept of COFFEE SPACES is intriguing to me. These are coffee shops that set themselves apart through their space, specialty drinks, and creative approach. I have visited some coffee shops that offer unique experiences, such as hosting live music performances on certain days of the week. Another coffee shop provides painting sets and encourages customers to showcase their work by displaying them in the shop. Some even host talks from various groups or individuals, while others decorate to raise awareness about different cultures or issues. Additionally, local artists often use these spaces to display their art. These coffee spaces embody a strong sense of culture and creativity that engage your senses and enrich your experience.

Throughout my life, I've had the privilege of living in various cities across the world, including Cairo, Dubai, Chicago, Boston, Vancouver, and Madrid. Presently, I reside in California's Bay Area. As a seasoned coffee lover and connoisseur, I've visited hundreds of coffee shops over the years and have even curated lists for others to enjoy. Whether it's meeting with friends or colleagues or simply seeking a moment of respite from my busy schedule, you can usually find me savoring a carefully crafted cup at one of my favorite local coffee shops.

In this piece, I would like to share my experience of visiting different coffee spaces. It's more than just a cup of coffee; it encompasses the architecture, atmosphere, culture, people, owners' creativity, and even the humor of the baristas. My aim is to explore these spaces and share with you how they can offer unique cultural experiences. Join me as we delve into the world of COFFEE SPACES together.
